Betting Rules
These Betting Rules explain how wagers are placed, accepted, processed and settled at Lucky Vegas. They are intended to help players in Australia understand the main principles that apply when using betting services. General betting principles
By opening, viewing or placing a bet through Lucky Vegas, you agree to follow these Betting Rules and the other terms that apply to your account. If a market has event-specific rules, those rules form part of the terms for that market. If there is an inconsistency between a general rule and a specific market rule, the specific market rule will generally apply to the relevant bet.
Page contents
Players are responsible for checking the details of a bet before confirming it. This includes the event, competition, market, selection, odds, stake, potential return, bet type and any conditions displayed on the betting slip. Once a bet has been accepted, it may not be changed or cancelled unless the applicable rules expressly allow it.
A player must use their own account and provide information that is complete, accurate and current. Accounts must not be shared, transferred or used by another person. You must also comply with any age, identity, location and account verification requirements that apply to the service and to gambling in Australia.
- Only bets placed through the approved betting interface and recorded in the account history are recognised.
- A bet is not final merely because a player has selected a market or entered a stake.
- A bet is accepted only when the system confirms acceptance and records the transaction.
- The bet receipt, confirmation screen or account history should be retained as evidence of the bet details.
- Players should not rely on a screenshot or an unconfirmed betting slip as proof that a bet was accepted.
- The available balance should be checked before and after placing a bet.
Available markets and odds
Markets, selections and odds may change before or during an event. Displayed odds are not a promise that a bet will be accepted at that price. Where an odds change is shown before confirmation, the player may be asked to accept the updated odds or return to the previous screen. The odds applying to an accepted bet are those recorded in the confirmation and account history, subject to these rules and any correction required under the Terms and Conditions.
Some markets may be restricted, suspended or unavailable at any time. Suspension can occur before an event, during an event or when information relevant to the market is being checked. A suspended market must not be treated as available for betting until it is reopened and a bet is confirmed.
Placing and accepting bets
Before placing a bet, select the required event and market, choose the selection, enter the stake and review the betting slip. The slip may show the applicable odds, total stake, possible return, bet type and other conditions. You should check all information carefully before selecting the final confirmation button.
A bet is generally accepted only after the system has completed the transaction and displayed a confirmation. If the connection is interrupted, the page does not load, or a confirmation is not shown, check the account history before trying again. Repeating a bet without checking may result in more than one bet being placed.
Bet types
The available bet types may include single bets, combination bets, multiples, accumulators, each-way selections or other products. The rules, returns and settlement method can differ for each type. Any special conditions for a bet type will be shown in the betting interface or relevant market information and should be reviewed before confirmation.
- A single bet depends on the outcome of one selection or market.
- A combination bet depends on multiple selections and may be affected if one or more selections are void.
- An in-play or live bet is placed after an event has started and is subject to additional timing and information risks.
- A bet involving a place, margin, line, total, handicap or other price-based market is settled according to the result and conditions for that market.
- Promotional or enhanced betting products, where offered, may have separate terms that apply in addition to these rules.
A bet placed with insufficient available funds will not normally be accepted. A transaction may also be declined because of account restrictions, market suspension, technical issues, verification requirements, responsible gambling controls or other lawful operational reasons. An attempted transaction that is declined should not be treated as a confirmed bet.
System and display errors
If a clear error appears in odds, event information, market descriptions, settlement information or another part of the service, the error may be corrected. This can include correcting, voiding or recalculating an affected bet where permitted by the applicable terms. A player should not deliberately take advantage of an obvious error and should notify the operator through the available support process if something appears incorrect.
Event rules and settlement
Bets are settled using the official result or other result source specified for the relevant market. The result used may depend on the sport, competition, event type and market wording. A result announced at the venue, by an official governing body or through another recognised source may be used. Any later change to a result will only affect settlement where the applicable market rules expressly provide for it.
Market wording matters
The exact wording of a market determines what is being bet on. For example, a market may refer to the result at the end of regulation time, the final result after extra time, a particular period, a named participant, a specific score or another defined point in an event. Players should read the market description rather than assume that a commonly used meaning applies.
Where an event is postponed, abandoned, interrupted, rescheduled or changed, settlement will depend on the rules for the affected market. Some bets may remain valid if the event is completed within the relevant conditions. Other bets may be void if the required event or market conditions are not met. The same principle applies where a participant withdraws, a fixture changes, a venue changes or the format of an event is altered.
- A void bet is treated as cancelled for settlement purposes, with the stake handled in accordance with the applicable rules.
- A selection may be void while other selections in a combination bet remain subject to settlement.
- A dead heat or tied result may be settled using a reduced payout or other method stated in the market rules.
- If no valid result can be established under the relevant rules, the affected market may be void.
- Where a participant or team is incorrectly named, the bet may be void or settled according to the specific correction rule for that market.
- A result may be reviewed if there is a reasonable basis to believe that the market was settled incorrectly.
Live and in-play betting
Live betting carries a higher risk of delay between an event occurring and information being displayed. Prices can change quickly, and a market may be suspended before a bet is confirmed. Players should consider that live pictures, scores, statistics and commentary may not be delivered in real time and may not be complete or accurate.
A live bet placed after a material event has already occurred may be reviewed under the applicable in-play rules. If a bet is accepted after the market should have been suspended, or if the bet was accepted using materially incorrect information, the bet may be corrected or voided where permitted. Players must not use delayed information, software or other methods intended to obtain an improper advantage.
Cash out and early settlement
If a cash-out or early settlement feature is available, it is offered subject to availability and can be withdrawn, suspended or changed. A cash-out request is not complete until it is confirmed. If an event or market changes while a request is processing, the request may fail or the original bet may remain active. The amount shown by a cash-out feature may not be available at all times.
Account security, disputes and responsible betting
Keep your login details confidential and use reasonable security precautions when accessing your account. You should sign out on shared devices, avoid allowing other people to place bets from your account and contact the operator through the available support channel if you believe that your account or password has been compromised.
Account history should be checked regularly. If you believe that a bet has been recorded incorrectly, a result has been settled incorrectly or an account transaction is missing, raise the issue promptly with the operator. Provide the relevant bet reference, event details and a clear explanation where possible. A review will be conducted under the applicable terms and available records.
Technical interruptions
Internet connections, devices, payment systems, data feeds and software can experience interruptions or delays. Lucky Vegas is not required to treat an incomplete or unrecorded transaction as a confirmed bet. If the service becomes unavailable, wait until access is restored and check your account history before attempting the same transaction again.
Responsible gambling
Betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to earn income or recover financial losses. Set a budget before you play and only bet money you can afford to lose. Do not chase losses, borrow money to gamble or bet when affected by alcohol, drugs, stress or strong emotions.
- Set personal deposit, spending or time limits where the service makes those tools available.
- Take regular breaks and keep track of how much time and money you spend.
- Do not increase stakes to try to recover earlier losses.
- Consider taking a break or requesting account restrictions if betting no longer feels enjoyable or controlled.
- Seek independent financial, health or gambling support if gambling is causing concern for you or someone close to you.
- If you are under the legal gambling age or otherwise not permitted to gamble, do not use the service.
Lucky Vegas may apply account, product or transaction restrictions to support legal compliance, account security and responsible gambling. These controls may affect the ability to place bets, access markets or use account features. The operator may request information or documents before allowing continued use of an account or completing certain transactions.
These Betting Rules are general information and do not replace the full Terms and Conditions or the specific rules displayed for a market. If you are unsure how a market works, do not place the bet until you have reviewed the available information and understand the possible outcomes. By continuing to use the betting service, you acknowledge that betting involves risk and that you are responsible for reviewing the rules that apply to each bet.
